Reading Time: < 1 minute Moet, a blind cat who has gained an incredible following since appearing online in 2015, has announced her drive to promote animal welfare in Oman. Moet is a Persian who was born in Oman and was found blind and sick in a pet shop, where she had spent the first year of her life. She was rescued and taken to a local vet, who removed her eyes to save her life and nursed her back to health. She was then adopted by a British resident in Oman. She has amassed more than 50,000 followers across her social media platforms and is using her popularity to raise much needed awareness across the Sultanate. Not only are there many strays in Oman, which Moet contributes funds to, but there are a large numbers of abandoned or neglected pets.
