This is my second post about thrifting for pet-theme decor. You might remember to first one, but, to refresh your memory, that time around I went shopping to find pet-related items to help decorate my home with. I ended up buying this plate:
This time around, instead of going to a local thrift store, I checked out an antique store in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Since it was an antiques store, I guess I was technically more antiquing than thrifting. But, I was still on the hunt for some bargains, so I think this will count.
The store had a lot of different rooms that had a myriad of great items. It was hard to choose because there were so many, but one of the items that really caught my eye was this little guy, a silver cat ring holder.
I paid $20, which was a little high for a thrifting item, but a fair price. I’ve since seen the same cat ring holder for sale online for prices ranging from about 13 dollars to 45 dollars.
As a funny/interesting side note, while I was Googling a description of the cat to find comparable prices, I came across a picture of another silver cat ring holder, which was super cute and also less expensive. I ordered it from ebay and now I have two cat ring holders, neither of which will likely be holding on rings, but both of which look very nice in my display cabinet.
On the less pricey side, I also got these two cute mid-century modern cat rulers at about $4 each. I’m planning to use them as bookmarks until I can think of cool way to display them. If you have any ideas, let me know in the comments.
Nice finds. I love going antiquing for things like that.
It’s always a fun adventure.
Those are some really nice kitty cat finds!
